AL-HUDA AT A GLANCE

Al-Huda International Welfare Foundation is a registered NGO active in the promotion of Islamic education and welfare since 1994. Al-Huda International is registered under company Ordinance 1984. It has a board of directors, and the accounts of the Foundation are annually audited. Moreover, donations given to the Foundation are exempted from taxes.

 

Objectives

  • To promote purely Islamic values and thinking on sound knowledge and research, free from all kinds of bias and sectarianism.

  • To plan and work for the welfare of deprived sections of society i.e. the needy, poor, and calamity-stricken people.

For the achievement of these objectives, various activities in the fields of Social welfare, education and communication are taking place under the supervision of the Foundation

Social Welfare

Al Huda works for the welfare of deprived sections of society by catering to their educational, spiritual, emotional and material needs. Social welfare activities are carried out by volunteers who want to reach people in distress purely with the intention to please Allah (swt). Donation received as charity is spent on social welfare projects and programs. Al-Huda specially helps the calamity affected people. It provides them the basic necessities of life and supports the traumatized people. The following programs have been initiated to provide help to every strata of society:

1. Educational and Social Uplift Program (Taleemi and Islahi )

    1. Rural Areas Program: A program to provide basic Islamic education and training to girls/women of rural areas according to their mental level and specific needs.

    2. Slum Areas (kachi basti) Program: a program catering to the special conditions and situations of the residents of kachi bastis.

    3. Hospital Program: a program for the moral uplift and support of aggrieved and desolate women patients.

    4. Marriage Bureau: The bureau provides assistance in finding suitable matches for both boys and girls as well as guidance from Quran and Sunnah in arranging marriages.

    5. Guidance and counseling section: solutions to religious, psychological, educational, and social problems are provided to people in the light of Quran and Sunnah through personal meetings, letters, telephone conversations, and emails.

    6. Aap Kay Khatoot: Correspondence section catering to the letters from the public on different topics asking for ssistance and information.

    7. Funeral rites support (Gusul-e-mayat and Kafan): Assistance to the grieved family in bathing and wrapping the body according to sunnah and providing guidance and moral support to the bereaved.

    8. Vocational Training: A program providing vocational training to women in need of income generating skills.

2. Khidmat e Khalq Program

    1. Provision of ration and clothes: Monthly stipends are provided to widows and orphans, in addition to supplying food items and clothes to deserving families.

    2. Student Scholarship: Deserving students of schools and colleges are helped in meeting their educational expenses.

    3. Self support: This program supplies things such as hand-carts (thelaas) and sewing machines to those who are willing to work so that they can earn a living.

    4. Financial Assistance: Provision of stipends to widows and orphans who are unable to meet their basic needs. Also, assistance is provided to deserving boys and girls with basic necessities for marriage.

    5. Medical Assistance: Arrangement for medical aid, medicines, diagnostic tests, blood transfusion, eatables etc to poor patients.

    6. Emergency Relief: Provision of all possible assistance in case of calamities or crisis situations such as earthquakes, floods, accidents.

    7. Well digging: Arrangement for digging wells in areas affected by famine and drought such as Tharparkar in Sindh.

    8. Sacrifice (Eid ul Adha): Arrangement of Qurbani and provision of meat to the needy people on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha

Education And Training

Under the Foundation’s auspices, an ‘Institute of Islamic Education for Women’ has been established for the promotion of Islamic education. This institute offers Diploma and Post-Diploma courses. In addition to this, the Foundation offers for various courses at different locations. Apart from education, special emphasis is laid on character-building and practical application of Islamic tenets. The following courses are offered:

Academics programs Diploma courses
    1. Taleem-ul-Islam: a one year/one and a half year course for girls and women.

    2. Taleem-ul-Qur’an: a one year course both in English and Urdu for young girls.

    3. Ilm-ul-Kitab: an evening course for working women and students of schools, colleges and universities.

    4. Noor-ul-Qur’an: a course designed for domesticated women. The curriculum for these courses includes the following:

    Syllabus:

            • Complete explanation (Tafseer) of the Holy Qur’an with literal translation
            • Tajweed (Quranic recitation)
            • Uloom-ul-Qur’an (Quranic Sciences)
            • Hadith of the Holy Prophet (salallaahu alayhi wasallam)
            • Uloom-ul-Hadith (Hadith Sciences)
            • Seerah of the Prophet (salallaahu alayhi wasallam)
            • Fiqh-ul-Ibaadat (Islamic Jurisprudence)
            • Usool-ul-Fiqh (rulings regarding Islamic Jurisprudence)

            • Comparative religion
            • Arabic grammar
            • Aqeedah
            • Da’wah
            • Quranic and Masnoon dua’s and
            • Calligraphy (Arabic)

    Teaching Methodology:

            Activity-based and need-based methods of modern education are being used, which include research work (surveys and interview) and field work.

            • The teaching methodology also includes the use of audio-visual aids such as Multi-Media presentations shown in class.
            • Facilities available include a library, a hostel and sponsorships for deserving students.
            • Other than regular students, women from all walks of life can attend as ‘listeners’.

Certificate courses

    1. Taleem-e-deen:

    Under the ‘School of Islamic Studies’ (branches), courses of one and a half to two and a half years’ duration are offered for girls and women within the country as well as abroad. The curriculum for this course includes

        • Complete explanation (Tafseer) with literal translation of the Holy Qur’an
        • Tajweed (Quranic Recitation)
        • Uloom-ul-Qur’an (Quranic Sciences)
        • Hadith of the Holy Prophet (salallaahu alayhi wasallam)
        • Seerah of the Prophet (salallaahu alayhi wasallam)
        • Fiqh-ul-Ibaadat (Islamic Jurisprudence)
        • Muslim Heroes
        • Arabic Grammar
        • Aqeedah
        • Da’wah and Tableegh
        • Quranic and Masnoon duas
        • Calligraphy (Arabic)

    2. Tafheem-e-Deen: a course comprising of Tajweed (Quranic Recitation), Quranic translation and explanation (Tafseer), Fiqh ul Ibadaat (or jurisprudence) and some other subjects.

    3. Saut –al- Quran: : a course comprising of Tajweed (Quranic Recitation), Quranic translation and explanation (Tafseer)

    4. Correspondence Course: a course designed for distant learners through correspondence for both male and female. It includes teaching of Quran and Hadith.

Post-Diploma/Certificate courses

    Advanced Course: for the in-depth knowledge of the Qur’an, Seerah of the Prophet (salallaahu alayhi wasallam), Islamic Fiqh and other advanced subjects.

                                                                              OR

    Hadith Course: Three/four months course to enhance in depth knowledge of the Quran, Hadith and other related subjects.

Community Education Program:

The institute offers the following courses under this program:

    Weekly Courses

        • Towards the Light/Roshni ki janib: a weekly class in English and Urdu for young girls.

        • Dars-e-Quran: a weekly Quran class in Urdu for ladies

    Short Courses

        • Roshni ka Safar: a three-month course for girls with minimal education from rural areas.

        • Islamic Tarbiyati Course: a six to eight weeks course for matriculated girls.

        • Summer Course: a six to eight week course offered to children, young girls and women during the summer vacations.

    Hamaray Bachey program

        • Miftah-al-Quran: four days a week Quran class for boys ages 4 to 10 and girls ages 4 to 15.

        • Manar-al-Islam: a weekly Islamic Education class for children ages 4 to 10.

        • Misbah-al-Quran: a weekly Islamic Education class for children ages 11 to 15. 4.

        • Summer Course: a six to eight week course for children during the summer vacations.

    Occasional Events Program:

    Special lectures are arranged and audio/written materials are distributed to educate people on the following occasions:-

        • Islamic Months: such as Muharram-ul-Haram, Safar, Rabi-ul-Awwal, Rajab, Shaban, and Zilhaj.

        • Holy Ramadan: translation and brief explanation of the Quran, known as 'Fahm-al-Quran' is offered on a large scale during Ramadan.

        • Islamic Festivals: celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-azha according to the Sunnah

        • Hajj and Umrah: special Hajj and Umrah training programs are arranged to educate and facilitate the pilgrims.

        • Festivals: such as Basant, Valentine’s Day, April Fool, and New year.

        • Happiness and Grief: information and Islamic guidelines are provided for certain occasions such as weddings, birth and death.

    Lectures at Educational Institutes

    Lectures are arranged in schools, colleges, and universities to stimulate students’ interest in authentic teachings of Islam.

 

 

Mass Communication

In order to adorn every heart with the Qur’an, Al-Huda International Welfare Foundation has formed a Communication team to convey the message of this book to all mankind. Authenticity and quality are the keys to effective communication. Our products and services combine these with the efficient use of modern technology to extend (convey, communicate) Allah’s message to humanity.

Books and Cassettes:

A wide range of cassettes, CDs, DVDs, VCDs of the Tafseer of the Quran, Qir'at, duas (Supplications) and lectures on various topics are available in Urdu, English and some regional languages. Also, simple easy to read books, pamphlets and cards are printed to provide guidance on practical topics.

The latest audio and written material is available on the web site which can be downloaded free of cost. Information about Al-Huda’s educational institutions and social welfare projects is provided. The website also features online forum, syllabus material for online students and shopping facility.

Online classes and lectures:

Live classes are broadcast via pal talk which can be availed by students and general public.

Radio programs: Every morning from 6:30 am to 7:00 am programs are broadcast on Quran and Hadith, from various FM radio channels in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and other cities.

Shared Vision - Shared Effort

To cater to the rapid expansion of work and the growing number of students, the construction of complexes of the Al-Huda International Welfare Foundation in Karachi and Islamabad is in process. These complexes will include lecture halls, an auditorium, class rooms, Multi-Media, IT and Publications departments, multi-purpose halls, an administration block, a clinic, and a children’s nursery.
